seeds Stewardship of the earth begins with gratitude for its gifts and a vigorous enjoyment of the outdoors, and develops with studies of farming and building, geography and the earth sciences. The school is enrolled in the Adopt-a-Highway Program and has participated in the Housatonic River Walk project and the collection of food and clothing for those in need, amongst many other community service projects.

From the earliest grades our students learn to care for their handmade wooden desks, their classrooms and, especially, for each other. By the time they graduate, they have a sense of caring and responsibility for the earth itself and its many inhabitants.
