Admissions Information

cello and violin players As a parent you are faced with a series of vitally important choices and decisions for your child. The development of this young human being depends on your understanding of what it means to grow up today and the physical, emotional, intellectual and moral challenges have never been greater.

Of all the decisions you will make, the choice of a school has perhaps the most far reaching consequences. We look forward to sharing this process with you, and talking with you about your child.

The first step is to fill out our Admissions Inquiry Form or call our office at 413-528-4015 ext, 106 and make an appointment for a tour with the Admissions Director. Our fax number is 413-528-6410. When you visit, look at the bulletin boards and blackboards. Take the time to look through a main lesson book. Watch our kindergartners absorbed in their play. Observe the interest and enthusiasm on our students faces' as you pause in their classrooms. More important than our wonderful physical facilities, the relationships between teachers and students are at the heart of growing up at the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School.

The second step is submitting an application, followed by student and parent interviews with the class teacher and a class visit. Applications for admission and financial aid, as well as Open House schedules and tuition information, are available from the school office. Financial aid funds are available for students in every grade, and grants are made on the basis of need once a child has been accepted. Parents may also choose from a variety of payment plans.

Interested families are also welcome to attend our May Day celebration (May 1, rain or shine), the Shakespearean play offered every year by the eighth grade, and other school community events. Please let us know if you would like to be on our mailing list.
